The Sting is the fifth episode from the final (at the moment) season of Futurama.

Summary: WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS Professor Farnsworth sends the crew on a dangerous mission to retrieve space honey - a task that killed a previous crew of his.

Determined to suceed where they failed, Leela leads Bender and Fry into the colony's deapths. While she suceeds in retrieving both several jars of honey and a baby queen to bring back to Earth with them, Bender's lack of fluency in the bee's language manages to tip off the bees to their presence and the gang is chased out of the hive.

Bender, Fry and Leela makes it out of the hive on the PE ship without a scratch on them, leading Leela to brag of her success - too soon. The young queen then awakens and attacks, and Fry throws himself in front of Leela to spare her life. The queen is undaunted and attacks a final time - her stinger goes right through Fry, only scratching Leela. While Leela is unharmed, she and Bender quickly realize that Fry is dead!

Knowing that she caused Fry's death, Leela is overcome with guilt. She learns from the Professor that space honey can be used as a powerful sleeping drug, but too many spoonfuls will lead to permanent sleep. She begins taking the honey to put herself to sleep at night - and while asleep begins to have more and more vivid dreams about Fry being alive.

Her fantasies encroaching on her waking world and driving her to madness, Leela contemplates suicide by space honey, but Fry appears one more time to talk her out of it. He begs her to wake up one more time and...

...she awakens in a hospital bed with Fry crying over her. She dreamed his death - while the stinger of the queen did indeed go right through Fry, it delivered a full dose of poision to Leela, putting her in a coma. He hasn't left her side in the entire time, and he's been talking non-stop. He tells her that he doesn't know if any of what he said got through. Embracing him, she reassures him, "it got through, Fry. It got through."
