The Dixie Chick's second major album "Fly" was also one of their most sucessful. It climbed to number one on the country charts and was a number-one crossover hit on the pop charts, reigning as the country's number one album for two weeks.

It also won the band two Grammys, several Country Music Association Awards, and a lot of controversy. The third single, "Goodbye Earl", a humerous revenge tale about an abusive ex-spouse who's poisioned to death and whose body is tossed in a lake by two best friends, recieved a lot of negative attention. Nonetheless, the songs "Ready To Run" (Featuring the Chicks as three escaping brides), "Cowboy, Take Me Away", and "Goodbye Earl" (Which starred Dennis Franz) were all hits on the country charts. As well as these radio hits, the album also includes such concert favorites as "Sin Wagon".
