She brushed the crumbs from her nails and watched him speak to the Gods.

"No, that's not right...we need more! More money, more time. It's unacceptable! What? No...yes, I'll hold!" He sighed, placing his palm over the receiver. "Dear God, Molly, save me a biscuit. I need it."

"Doctors giving you a hard time?"

"Yes and no...What? Yes Sir! Of course! Yes, fine, I'll see to it." He sighed, shutting off his cell phone, then reaching over and pulling his shirt over his head. "It's an awful mess."

"I understand."

"I keep wondering why it had to happen to someone so young. And at a family reunion! What tragedy!"

"Have they settled everything yet?"

"Not with the estate. That's to be frightful." He groaned.

"I meant with Eugene."

William's shoulders sank. "They haven't decided what to do with him."

"They're going to let him keep wrestling, right? They must let him keep wrestling!"

"What I said, dear. No decisions have been made."

"How terrible for him."

"For him, for me. Meanwhile, they'll never clear me, and Eric wants no part of his nephew!."

The doorbell rang. "Oh, stuff it!" He muttered, but shoved himself back into his pants, tossing Molly the phone. The bell kept ringing on, an incessant buzz. "Damn it, what do you-"

He ripped open the door. And there stood Eugene, smiling and waving.
