About:

Adam Savage, a self-described "maker of things", has been working in the special effects and design field for over nine years.

Adam's work has been featured in commercials for Coca-Cola, and such movies as Episodes One and Two of the Star Wars Saga and the Matrix sequels, but he is best known for co-hosting the Discovery Channel series "Mythbusters" with Jamie Hyneman.

Five Quick Facts about Adam:

  • 1: Adam has somewhat of an acting careeer on the side - as a teenager, he appeared in an ad for Charmin brand bathroom tissue.


  • 2: Adam is also an artist and sculptor - his work has been displayed in numerous art galleries in San Francisco.


  • 3: Among the injuries Adam has suffered while making Mythbusters: singed hair and eyebrows and a split lip. And yes - according to Adam in a discovery channel chat, the date he was supposed to go on the day he singed his eyebrows and hair went well.


  • 4: Adam proposed to his wife the night after he stuck his lip against the fan of a vaccum cleaner while he and Jamie were looking for spare parts for their hovercar experiments.


  • 5: Adam is the father of twin boys.
