Adam Savage, a self-described "maker of things", has been working in the special effects and design field for over nine years. His work has been featured in commercials for Coca-Cola, and such movies as Episodes One and Two of the Star Wars Saga and the Matrix sequels, but he is best known for co-hosting the Discovery Channel series "Mythbusters" with Jamie Hyneman.

Adam grew up in New York - According to the official Discovery Channel Mythbusters book, he's the son of fameous painter and director W. Lee Savage, of the influential production company Savage Friedman. He began his career as a child actor - he did voice work for Sesame Street at seven - when he got his first screen actor's guild credit. As a teenager, he appeared in an ad for Charmin brand bathroom tissue. After trying multiple fields, Adam settled on modelmaking and special effects. He had been a collegue and employee of Jamie Hyneman's when Mythbusters went into development - Jamie suggested Adam to the producers, and Adam's enthusiasm and charm won him the co-hosting gig.

Fun Fact: Among the injuries Adam has suffered while making Mythbusters: singed hair and eyebrows and a split lip. And yes - according to Adam in a discovery channel chat, the date he was supposed to go on the day he singed his eyebrows and hair went well.
