Shrek and Fiona are two characters from the Dreamworks Shrek franchise and the William Steig book "Shrek".

In the first film, Shrek rescues Fiona from her tower perch and dragon protector because Lord Faarquad has promised him delivering the princess to the lord's hands would lead to Shrek recieving the deed to his swamp - and the ability to evict the magical creatures taking residence there. Along the way, the twosome fall in love, despite Fiona's horrible secret and Shrek's stubborn belief in his lack of attractiveness.

In Shrek 2, Shrek and Fiona return from their honeymoon to recieve a message from her parents. They request that their daughter introduce them to her new groom. While in Far Far Away, it's discovered that Fiona's father owes her fairy godmother the Princess' hand in marriage to her vapid knight son.
